What’s an IP address?
An IP address is a unique numeric label used to identify computers in a Domain Name System (DNS) network.
It consists of 4 groups of numbers, each between 0 and 255, separated by periods. They are the numeric counterpart to domain names and are converted by computers to locate resources associated with domain names on the internet. For example, if you were to type Name.com’s IP address into your web browser, you would end up at our website.
Why does my IP address change?
If you have a Dynamic IP address at home (and most people do), it’s normal for your IP number to regularly change.
