Jecelyn Yeen compartilhou isso24+ hours of flying for a few days in Boston — but absolutely worth it. I was at our Believe US Product & Engineering Conference. The Access Group I gave a talk and ran a workshop on building agentic workflows and driving internal platform adoption. Seeing ideas spark real conversations in the room made it all the more rewarding. Grateful for the warm reception, the thoughtful questions, and the new connections made along the way. Already looking forward to what the teams build next! #AgenticAI #ProductEngineering #TheAccessGroup

Jecelyn Yeen compartilhou issoTo date, we’ve helped our colleagues save ~RM10k. 🍲🙂 This is my favorite kind of engineering talk: Discussing how we stitch tools together to solve real-world problems and navigate technical "gotchas." Eng Leong Lee and I built a seamless, affordable economic rice ordering system for our colleagues, automating the entire workflow using the Google stack and inject some fun in it. The best part? Running the whole operation costs less than RM5/month. The Tech Stack: Google AppScript, Google Gemini API, Google Cloud (Compute Engine, Cloud Run Functions, Cloud Scheduler), Firebase, Claude, Antigravity. Thank you for organising: GDG Cloud KL Spyros Kyriazatis Hong Wei Chin We at The Access Group KL sponsors monthly tech meetups. Reach out if you are looking for space for your upcoming meetups! Jecelyn Yeen compartilhou isso🚀 Still doing repetitive manual ops at work? What if you could automate it for less than the price of a plate of zapfan? 🍛 Next Tuesday at GDG Cloud Kuala Lumpur (Google Developer Group Cloud Kuala Lumpur) , Eng Leong Lee and I will be sharing how we transformed our DAILY, VERY MANUAL “zapfan” lunch ordering process — from pure Excel sheets + human coordination 😅 — into a fully automated workflow + a touch of AI creativity (Google Gemini). This real-world automation journey connects multiple everyday tools and platforms: ✅ WhatsApp ✅ Microsoft Teams ✅ Google Sheets & Apps Script ✅ Google Cloud (VM instances, Cloud Functions, Firebase) ✅ AI features with Gemini ✅ Vibe-code with Claude + Antigravity The best part? The entire solution runs at less than RM5 per month. Yes — cheaper than your daily lunch. 😄 If you’re dealing with mundane operational tasks, manual tracking, or repetitive coordination work, this session is especially for you. Come learn from our challenges, design decisions, and wins — so you can start automating your own workflows. 🎟️ Don’t miss it — register and join us next week at our TRX-based office The Access Group! Jecelyn Yeen gostou dissoJecelyn Yeen gostou dissoEveryone is talking about context engineering right now. But the more information you feed an AI, the more tokens you burn, and tokens are still expensive. As described here, larger context windows also come with tradeoffs in cost and efficiency: https://lnkd.in/dCs3qYMi With AI providers constantly changing pricing models, the real challenge is figuring out how to give AI just enough context to generate useful code without wasting money. A good place to start is minimal context for AI development. Here’s a blog post I wrote on the topic: https://lnkd.in/dU4SEY22 #rubberdux #aidrivendevelopment

Jecelyn Yeen reagiu a issoJecelyn Yeen reagiu a issoSwapped the usual DevTools studio with the big I/O setup recently to capture some very exciting AI assistance updates. 🎬 Behind the scenes, the DevTools product teams have been absolutely crushing it - working full steam to get everything polished and ready for the big reveal. In terms of actual studio "behind the scenes", as every year the lovely studio crew seamlessly propped up the desk for me on extra boards so I don't look like a giant in the frame. Since getting back from London, I've been finalizing the additional live talk about DevTools for agents and I can't wait to show off the team's hard work at Google I/O on May 19-20 with Chrome for Developers!

Jecelyn Yeen reagiu a issoJecelyn Yeen reagiu a issoI was invited by Google Developer Group Cloud KL to give a talk at Google Build with AI event. It was an amazing having to talk with different people from different background. My talk was about rethinking the developer lifecycle with AI as a first-class participant to reduce human-in-the-loop overhead to ship faster. Easy to say. Hard to do. Curious what that actually looks like? Or you have any suggestion or feedback to what I shared? Feel free to reach out, I would love to hear from you. Jecelyn Yeen gostou dissoJecelyn Yeen gostou dissoWow, what a day at #AgenticDevDays organized by AI Engineering In Stockholm. It is interesting to observe the shift from "we can build all the things" to "we should make sure that what we build is actually correct". Testing and verification is becoming relevant again, yeah! Thank you Robert Westin for inviting me to give a talk there!

Jecelyn Yeen gostou dissoJecelyn Yeen gostou dissoSome swag carries more weight than it looks. This week, the Google Developers Expert exclusive Lego set arrived — and I just sat with it for a while. 2018 feels both like yesterday and a lifetime ago. That's the year I became a Google Developer Experts in AI/ML, and the journey since has shaped me in ways I didn't expect. I still remember the nudges from Jecelyn Yeen and Shang Yi Lim, and the recommendation from Thye Yeow Bok at Google, that pushed me to apply. I didn't fully know what I was stepping into. What I found was a community that let me keep being the pseudo-academician I've always been at heart — always learning, always sharing, always giving back. From the early TensorFlow days, through Keras, and now into the full Gemini AI suite, being a GDE has given me a front-row seat to how Google's technology keeps evolving. And alongside the tech, the people — fellow GDEs and developers across the region I've met at IO Extended, DevFest, Build with AI, and countless meetups in between. A heartfelt thank you to the Google DevRel team who quietly make all of this possible — Janise Tan • 陈美璇, Saad Hamid, Zhi Yi Ho, Amrita Nambiar, Amrita Nambiar, Soonson Kwon, Manikantan Krishnamurthy, Danang Juffry . Nhi Nguyen Avelynn Lee Eric ShangKuan and Thu Ya K. Ya. Your support behind the scenes means more than you know. A big shoutout too to fellow Malaysian GDEs, Shang Yi Lim Vin Lim Yong Shean Chong and Lai Fong And to every GDG organizer who has invited me to speak, run a workshop, or simply share a hallway conversation — thank you. You've shaped this journey far more than you realise. Eight years in, and the curiosity that started it all is still very much intact. Honoured. Grateful. Onward. Jecelyn Yeen reagiu a issoJecelyn Yeen reagiu a issoApril 2026 marks a number of things, so we will celebrate this with many words and a photo dump, and as promised last year, you will still get posts from me that I actually write and no AI slop. One year since a work trip I'll remember for life, where we connected with colleagues and processes from The Access Group in Loughborough and explored London for the first time, but instead of a photo of a bridge or the team, I will share the photo of the giant spread of Indian food I slayed with Chuck Magee and Rich Dellea. Four years since I started on the Sales team at Paytronix. Rather than reflect on any accomplishments, I'll address this with the spirit of the automated email that has celebrated our sales with the reminder "On to the next one!" Seven years since I rebooted my career into the tech industry. Thanks to Andy Moores, CSM for believing in me at the beginning. My dad's birthday, and also eleven years since I lost my dad. I think about that every day but slightly more at this time of year. I'm sure he would have been interested in hearing about all of my professional activities. During my time at Quiznos, he always referred to the subs we sold as "lettuce sandwiches". I like to think he warmed up to the menu a little once the Prime Rib and Peppercorn came out. Last week was #pxnxt in San Francisco, which is always a great chance to connect with the clients that are looking to improve and extract even more value from the rapidly expanding platform. I was most pleased that so many clients trusted us for a three-hour sunset cruise around the bay. If you're trapped at a bad event, you can sneak away, but that water was awfully cold and I don't think the crew would have been keen on deploying the life raft. And yesterday, we wrapped up the Believe conference in Boston, where I was able to tag along with the software developers and product managers who are shipping new code and features at 2x-10x the output of last year. So proud of this team and thankful for the confidence our leadership is showing in our future. We have a lot of work to do, but here's a quick win: I've wanted to have a picture of me on stage presenting, so I could be almost as cool as David Taylor. Photo credit to one of the numerous amazing presenters Jecelyn Yeen. Last but not least, my wife Laura Leavy has been crushing her goals for the year and is holding down the fort on a big home remodeling project while I'm away. Having a couple weeks away from the desk is creating quite the backlog for May, so time to get to work.
